Hello, I am Dr. Solomon Sebuliba, a political ecologist and environmental governance scholar whose research sits at the intersection of environmental humanities, law, media, and science and technology studies. Originally trained as a natural scientist in conservation biology and environmental impact assessments, I examine how scientific knowledge, legal frameworks, and institutions shape environmental governance across diverse social and ecological contexts.

My research explores the politics of biodiversity, climate change, extinction, environmental crime, and responsibility, with a geographical focus spanning African landscapes, natural history collections, digital ecologies, ocean governance, and international spaces beyond national jurisdiction and outer space. Using interdisciplinary qualitative and quantitative methods, I investigate how environmental knowledge is produced, whose knowledge counts in decision-making, and how these processes influence conservation priorities and environmental futures.

Alongside my academic research, I work as a consultant and practitioner, contributing to the design of postcolonial exhibitions, and the development and negotiation of environmental law and policy at national and international levels.
